Checking in. How was the first month of the year for you?
We always have these great expectations to be better and do better when we set our New Year’s Resolutions.
But seriously, we don’t make major life changes or come up with big ideas all at once. How many people do you know who propose after two months of dating other people? It only happens on reality TV shows like The Bachelor.
Everyday is an opportunity to be better and do better. This applies for personal goals and career goals.
I found this awesome infographic about being a rock star at work on a fellow blogger, Danielle YB Vason’s site, She Makes Cents, an online resource created to inform and inspire people on creative ways to save money while creating and maintaining a “fabulous” lifestyle.
It takes you through five steps:
- How to Get Up Early
- How to Start The Day
- How to Work Fast
- How to Think Fast
- How to Have a Simple Life
Take what you need and leave what you don’t.
How to Work Fast:
One of my favorite productivity tips is under “how to work fast.” Often times I have great ideas in my head, but then I don’t start writing or creating and the ideas stay there—in my head. We make up so many ideas about why or how we cannot do something.
I like that they gave me permission to stop questioning, keep going, and just do the task. And they gave me specific tactics to get my ideas on paper. Don’t be afraid of doing a bad job at first. That’s how you develop one of the best work skills, diligence.
Keep going. Keep revising. In the words of my favorite app, go get ’em, tiger.
