Johnsonville partners with Uber Technologies for the first time to bring Chicago city dwellers a unique food delivery experience. This Sunday, November 8, 2015, meet a Nonna, “nonna” means “grandma” in Italian, in Chicago, who will cook you a free, home cooked Italian meal and deliver it to your apartment.
Three nonnas will be riding with Uber drivers in white pick-up trucks with custom built houses attached.
“This is a meaningful way to get a home cooked meal from a real, authentic grandma,” said Johnsonville representative, Stephanie Dlugopolski.
The nonnas will prepare Johnsonville recipes like rigatoni, lasagna and spaghetti and meatballs all cooked with Johnsonville Ground Italian Sausage.
From 2:00 – 6:00 pm, download the Uber app on your iPhone or Android and select the “Nonnas” option. Track your delivery though the app as the tiny house icon nears your home. You do not need to order the car service to receive a free meal. See the map below for the event area.
This is the first time that Johnsonville partnered with Uber, an idea from marketing firm, Droga5.
“This is the busiest season for sausage sales,” said Dlugopolski, “It’s the warm, comfort food season.”
According to Johnsonville, Chicago is the first and only city to experience this promotion.
