During summer, there is so much time to explore and try something new, and most importantly to do something you love and share it with a community of fellow enthusiasts. This July 2015, the movies aren’t the only thing playing on the big screen, and that something else is you!
From Monday July, 27th through Wednesday, July 29, 2015 from 4:00 pm to 5:40 pm, Super League Gaming is bringing Minecraft to the big screen at select theaters including River East 21, AMC and Evanston 18, Cinemark.
Super League Gaming puts on many events throughout the year for youth gamers in multiple movie theaters.
During Super League Gaming events, not only do gamers have the opportunity to compete with each other, but they have the opportunity to compete with an entire movie-theater full of Minecraft enthusiasts on a screen 10 times bigger than their usual playing field for prizes. Throughout this rare and intense 100 minute experience, youth gamers bring their laptops to plug into the screen and compete against other young gamers in Chicago.
NPR and other news sources like the Chicago Tribune have noted how events like these elevate gaming and put gaming in a professional spotlight, even at the age of 15. This concept is growing as gaming evolves and as venues find creative options to use their space in between the new blockbuster hit.
